Family Support Grant Program (100KB)
The Family Support Grant Program is administered by the Department of Social Services to provide a monthly subsidy to a parent or other family member of a child with a developmental disability, other than mental retardation, in order to meet the extraordinary expenses of that child.

To be eligible for Medicaid in Connecticut, an institutionalized individual's countable assets cannot exceed $1,600.00.* An individual who entered an institution on or after September 30, 1989, and has a spouse who lives in the community, is also able to have a portion of the couple's combined assets protected for the use of the community spouse.
