Governor Dannel P. Malloy will return to Washington to attend events at both the Naval Observatory (Vice President’s home) and the White House on March 17.

3/30/2011 Thursday: Governor Malloy Addresses Northwest Chamber, Takes Business Tour of Technical Industries in Torrington
On Thursday afternoon, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will be the keynote speaker at the Northwest Connecticut Chamber of Commerce Annual Meeting in Torrington, where he will speak about his efforts to improve the business climate in Connecticut and get our state’s fiscal house in order to help create new jobs and keep the ones we have. This will be the eighth Chamber of Commerce in the state that the Governor has formally addressed in the last six weeks. Following that, Governor Malloy will take a business tour of Technical Industries, Inc. in Torrington.
3/30/2011 Gov. Malloy Betting on UConn Men in Final Four
Governor Dannel P. Malloy has a friendly wager riding on the outcome of the UConn-Kentucky matchup in this weekend’s Final Four game. Governor Malloy bet Storrs-made UConn Dairy Bar ice cream against Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear’s Kentucky country ham that the UConn men will emerge victorious over the University of Kentucky Wildcats when the teams meet on Saturday night in Houston.
3/23/2011 Thursday: Governor Malloy Speaks at CEO Roundtable Event in Darien, Addresses Greater Norwalk Chamber
On Thursday evening, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will speak at the CEO Roundtable Networking Event in Darien. The CEO Roundtable is a group of Connecticut-based CEOs, business owners and leaders who meet regularly to network and discuss issues of importance to their businesses. Later Thursday evening, Governor Malloy will address the Greater Norwalk Chamber of Commerce Annual Dinner in Norwalk, where he will speak about his efforts to improve the business climate in Connecticut and get our state’s fiscal house in order to help create new jobs and keep the ones we have.
3/16/2011 Thursday: Gov. Malloy to Meet with Secretary LaHood, Conference Call with Reporters to Follow
Governor Dannel P. Malloy will meet tomorrow morning with Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood to discuss Connecticut’s application for a piece of the $2.4 billion in high-speed rail funding released last week. Governor Malloy previously met with Deputy Transportation Secretary John Porcari about this and other transportation issues important to the state.
3/13/2011 Monday: Governor Malloy Tours JobTarget in New London, Meets with CT Hospital Association in Wallingford, Holds Town Hall in Bristol
On Monday morning, Governor Malloy will visit JobTarget in New London for an opportunity to tour the company’s offices and speak with workers and management. JobTarget is a business that makes the process of finding jobs and recruiting talent more efficient with technology that powers job websites and career centers, and helps employers advertise jobs.
3/31/2011 Office of Policy & Management Release Connecticut State Agencies to See Reduced Energy Rates
The Office of Policy and Management (OPM) announced today that it has secured new fixed-price contracts to supply natural gas to Connecticut’s state agencies. One contract, covering 453 natural gas accounts for the period of July 1 through September 30, 2011, will result in a price reduction of 37.7 percent. An additional contract, covering 12 fuel-switching accounts for the same period, shows a 25.1 percent reduction. OPM estimates the combined cost savings for the state at approximately $660,000.

3/18/2011 Saturday: Governor Malloy Addresses Youth & Government Conference, Attends Connecticut Science Fair
On Saturday morning, Governor Malloy will speak at the 68th Annual Connecticut YMCA Youth and Government conference at the State Capitol in Hartford. The conference, aimed at promoting the understanding of lawmaking through active involvement in the legislative process, is a longstanding tradition at the State Capitol, allowing over 250 students from across the state to hold a mock legislative session featuring the students playing various roles, including legislators, constitutional officers, the press corps, and lobbyists.
3/28/2011 Governor Malloy: Routine Rainwater Testing in Connecticut Shows No Concern for Public Health
Last week low levels of radioactive material were found in rainwater in Massachusetts during routine testing that is conducted by the federal Environmental Protection Agency. Today, Governor Dannel P. Malloy informed Connecticut residents that officials here are continuing routine tests of rainwater in the state, and that radiation levels remain in the range that is normally seen.

On Wednesday Morning, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will speak at a Latino Advocacy Day news conference at the Legislative Office Building. Following that, Governor Malloy will give a speech at the Connecticut Nurses’ Association Legislative Day at The Bushnell in Hartford.
3/24/2011 Gov. Malloy Appoints Robert Stein as Chairman of Connecticut Siting Council
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced he has appointed Robert “Robin” Stein of Stamford to be a member of the Connecticut Siting Council. Additionally, he has nominated Stein to be Chairman of the Council, which requires legislative approval.
