On Tuesday afternoon, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will participate in the Connecticut National Guard’s Welcome Home and Freedom Salute, where two units of 240 soldiers who were stationed in Afghanistan and Bahrain will be formally welcomed home and honored for their service.

Governor Nancy Wyman will speak at the City of Middletown’s annual September 11 remembrance ceremony, which this year will be held at the South District Fire Headquarters and will coincide with the dedication of the city’s permanent 9/11 Memorial and Memorial Garden – a joint project of the South Fire District and the firefighters union.

Governor Dannel P. Malloy and Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman are inviting members of the public to attend the state's 12th annual memorial ceremony honoring and celebrating the lives of those killed in the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. The ceremony will begin at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 10, 2013 and will be held at Sherwood Island State Park in Westport.

Gov. Malloy Advises Metro-North Commuters to Prepare for Continued Delays Monday
Governor Dannel P. Malloy on Sunday afternoon is warning Connecticut commuters who plan on traveling into New York on Monday and into the upcoming week to be prepared for significant delays and consider making alternate plans as Metro-North and Con Edison make repairs to the electrical outage on the New Haven Line.

Gov. Malloy Applauds $10 Million Federal Transportation Grant for New Haven's State Street Station
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today applauded the release of a $10 million federal Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery (TIGER) grant to the State of Connecticut for the purpose of constructing a second platform at New Haven's State Street Station, which will minimize delays and accommodate an increase in service under the New Haven-Hartford-Springfield (NHHS) Rail Program.

Gov. Malloy Releases Statement on Ceremonial Burial Services for 18th Century Man
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today released the following statement regarding the burial of the former slave Fortune, of Waterbury, who died in 1798. Fortune’s remains were donated to the Mattatuck Museum in 1933.
