Thursday: Gov. Malloy to Commemorate New Open Space Law
On Thursday afternoon, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will hold a bill signing ceremony to commemorate the passage of Public Act 12-152, a new law that strengthens Connecticut’s efforts to preserve land as open space and help the state meet its goal of protecting 673,210 acres, or 21 percent, of state land as open space by 2023.

Thursday: Gov. Malloy to Commemorate State's New Natural Disaster & Storm Response Laws
On Thursday morning, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will hold a bill signing ceremony in West Hartford to commemorate the passage of Public Act 12-148, a new package of laws he introduced that enhances the ability of the state, municipalities and utility companies to better prepare for and respond to natural disasters and intense weather situations.

Wednesday: Gov. Malloy Continues "Still Revolutionary" Tourism Campaign in Eastern Conn.
On Wednesday, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will continue his promotional visits of state tourism destinations with stops scheduled in Bozrah, Waterford, Noank, Niantic and Old Lyme. The visits are part of the Governor’s summer-long effort to highlight the role Connecticut’s hospitality, tourism and recreation attractions play in strengthening the state’s overall economy.

Gov. Malloy: Connecticut's Small Businesses Driving State's Recovery
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that five Connecticut small businesses are receiving assistance through the state's Small Business Express Program (EXP). The program was part of the bipartisan Jobs Bill passed during last year's jobs special session to encourage business expansion and job growth.

Gov. Malloy: Hartford Will be Home to First State Memorial Honoring All Connecticut Veterans
Governor Dannel P. Malloy, joined by Lieutenant Governor Nancy Wyman, Department of Veterans Affairs Commissioner Linda S. Schwartz, state officials, and veterans, today announced plans to build the State of Connecticut's first memorial honoring all Connecticut veterans. The Connecticut State Veterans Memorial will be constructed in Minuteman Park across from the William A. O'Neill State Armory in Hartford and will break ground this fall.

Gov. Malloy: New Law will Enhance State's Emergency Preparedness
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today joined Division of Emergency Management and Homeland Security (DEMHS) Deputy Commissioner William P. Shea and West Hartford Mayor Scott Slifka for a ceremonial bill signing for Public Act 12-148, An Act Enhancing Emergency Preparedness and Response. The law will improve and augment the ability of the state, municipalities, and utility companies to better prepare for natural disasters and other emergencies.

Gov. Malloy Recognized by NAACP for Leadership on Capital Punishment Repeal
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today was recognized by the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) at their 103rd Annual Convention in Houston, Texas, for his leadership in repealing Connecticut's capital punishment law.
