11/22/2017 Gov. Malloy Statement on Today’s Decision by ICE to Grant a Stay in Case Involving Stamford Mother
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today released the following statement in response to the decision issued this afternoon by the U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency granting Miriam Martinez-Lemus, a Stamford mother who came to the United States in 1992 fleeing political violence in her home country of Guatemala, a stay in her immigration case and allowing her to remain with her family.

Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that he is appointing Thomas S. Hamilton, Scott Jackson, and Jay Nolan to serve as his appointees on the state’s recently created Municipal Accountability Review Board.
11/24/2017 Gov. Malloy Sets January 9 Special Election for State House Seat in Bloomfield and Windsor
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that a special election to fill a vacancy in the 15th Assembly District of the Connecticut House of Representatives, which consists of the entirety of Bloomfield and portions of Windsor, will be held on January 9, 2018.

Governor Dannel P. Malloy and First Lady Cathy Malloy are inviting Connecticut residents to attend the annual holiday open house of the Governor’s Residence, located at 990 Prospect Avenue in Hartford, which will be decorated for the season and open to the public for tours.
11/27/2017 Gov. Malloy Announces Connecticut Has Deployed 13 State Troopers to Puerto Rico for Post-Hurricane Tour of Duty
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that Connecticut’s Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection (DESPP) has deployed 13 state troopers as part of Connecticut’s ongoing efforts to assist in Puerto Rico’s post-hurricane recovery efforts. The troopers, 12 of whom are fluent in Spanish, will be patrolling and providing security and traffic assistance in conjunction with the local police in Puerto Rico. The crew departed Bradley Airport early Monday morning.

7/11/2017 Gov. Malloy Announces Indeed to Significantly Expand Presence in Connecticut, Increase Stamford Workforce to Over 1,200 Employees
Governor Dannel P. Malloy and executives from Indeed today announced that the internet company has plans to significantly increase its presence in Connecticut by investing $26.5 million to expand its Stamford offices, where its workforce already exceeds 700 employees. The expansion project will see the creation of as many as 500 new jobs in the coming years, bringing the company’s Connecticut job presence to over 1,200 employees.

Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that the State of Connecticut has joined the Mohegan and Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nations in filing a lawsuit in federal court against the U.S. Department of the Interior (DOI) and Ryan Zinke, the Secretary of the Interior, over the agency’s failure to act on the gaming compact amendments the Governor recently entered into with the tribes.
11/28/2017 Gov. Malloy Announces State Begins Providing Reimbursements to Northeastern Connecticut Homeowners for Testing of Crumbling Foundations
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that the state’s testing program for homeowners in northeastern Connecticut impacted or potentially impacted by the ongoing crumbling foundation problem has opened its application process and eligible homeowners can now begin applying to receive reimbursements for the testing of their homes. The state is making $5 million available to provide assistance related the costs of testing foundations for homeowners, which will better provide the state with data related to the scope of the situation while providing homeowners with another level of financial relief.

Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that as a result of recent state efforts to assist businesses in expanding and relocating to Connecticut, 13 companies have committed to growing 1,594 new jobs and retaining 2,949 employees across the state utilizing economic development tools designed to increase competitiveness and strengthen support for businesses.

12/6/2017 Gov. Malloy and Lt. Gov. Wyman Urge Congress to Reject Concealed Carry Reciprocity Legislation
Governor Dannel P. Malloy and Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman are urging the U.S. House of Representatives to reject the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act of 2017, which is currently pending before Congress and would allow more dangerous criminals and untrained individuals to carry loaded, hidden guns in public places by forcing states with strong concealed carry laws to honor permits from states with weak or non-existent standards.
12/7/2017 Gov. Malloy Urges Towns and Cities to Register for Program That Will Significantly Improve Accuracy of the Upcoming Census
Governor Dannel P. Malloy is urging municipalities across Connecticut to register for the U.S. Census Bureau’s Local Update of Census Address (LUCA) Program – an initiative created by the bureau as an opportunity for state and local governments to provide an updated and complete list of addresses in their communities in preparation for the federal government’s upcoming census in 2020.

12/7/2017 Gov. Malloy Announces Launch of State’s ‘Fresh Start’ Tax Initiative
Governor Dannel P. Malloy along with Department of Revenue Services (DRS) Commissioner Kevin Sullivan today announced that DRS is launching the CT Fresh Start program – a voluntary compliance initiative available to both individuals and businesses that provides incentives to taxpayers who report and pay their outstanding, unreported tax liabilities to the state. This program, which was created by the bipartisan state budget Governor Malloy signed into law on October 31, is aiming to bring in $60 million to the state by the end of FY18 and an additional $25 million by November 30, totaling $85 million.
