Tuesday: Gov. Malloy Attends CT Trees of Honor News Conference in Middletown
On Tuesday afternoon, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will participate in a news conference to announce the site where the CT Trees of Honor Memorial will be located. The living trees memorial will encompass a designed space that will include a shade tree planted for each of our state's military heroes who gave their lives serving in Iraq and Afghanistan during Operation New Dawn, Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.

Gov. Malloy Signs Legislation Increasing Access to Higher Education Opportunities for Connecticut Residents
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that he has signed into law legislation that improves access to higher education opportunities for Connecticut residents by allowing the children of undocumented immigrants to attend state institutions of higher education and pay the in-state tuition rate if the student has attended a Connecticut high school for at least two years and has graduated from a Connecticut high school.

Gov. Malloy Signs 2016-2017 Budget to Invest in Transportation, Deliver Property Tax Relief
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today signed the FY 2016-2017 budget, including corresponding implementers, which makes major investments in transportation infrastructure and delivers property tax relief for middle class families. The budget holds spending growth to 3.9% in 2016 and 3.0% in the following fiscal year. The budget will also cap the car tax at 32 mills in 2017 and 29.5 mills in 2018 - tax relief for thousands of middle-class Connecticut families.

Gov. Malloy Applauds Final Passage of Legislation Encouraging Equal Pay for Equal Work
Governor Dannel P. Malloy is applauding the final passage of legislation he introduced that was designed to narrow wage gaps among Connecticut's workforce by halting "pay secrecy" - a practice among employers that frequently hinders pay discrimination from being pinpointed. The bill, which was approved in the House of Representatives last week, received a favorable vote in the Senate this afternoon and next moves to the Governor's desk for his signature.
