Today, the Office of Governor Dannel P. Malloy released May 26, 2016 numbers for those accused of misdemeanor crimes who are currently in jail awaiting trial. Often, many of those pre-trial detainees are in prison because they cannot come up with even a few hundred dollars in bail.

Governor Dannel P. Malloy and First Lady Cathy Malloy today each received honorary degrees from Curry College, a private higher education institution in Milton, Massachusetts. Governor Malloy also served as the college's commencement speaker today during its 2015 commencement exercises.

Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that Crius Energy, through its wholly owned subsidiary Regional Energy Holdings, will relocate its headquarters to Norwalk, where the company will retain its 200 jobs and create 225 new positions within the next four years.

Gov. Malloy Signs Executive Order No. 54
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today signed Executive Order No. 54 to complement Public Act 16-64, a bill he signed this afternoon. The Executive Order clarifies a phrase in the bill, specifically that a "reasonable fee" for any "recording for which the recording fee is not otherwise prescribed by law" shall be construed to mean no more than twenty dollars and that the officers shall receive reimbursement for mileage traveled.
