  Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that the Pearl Harbor Memorial Bridge in New Haven - informally known as the Q Bridge - will be lit red, white, and blue on the nights of Thursday, November 10, and Friday, November 11, in observation of Veterans Day. Beacons capable of projecting light nearly six miles into the clear night sky will be lit until 1:00 a.m. during those nights.

Malloy and the members of Connecticut’s Congressional delegation today announced that the State of Connecticut has been awarded nearly $11.7 million in discretionary federal funding in the third year of funding through the Preschool Development Grant, which aims to expand high-quality preschool. The funding was awarded by the U.S. Departments of Education and Health and Human Services through a competitive grant process and was announced today by Education Secretary John B. King.

Malloy today announced that due to the ongoing success of a consumer rebate program he launched last year to promote the sale of electric vehicles (EVs), an additional $2.7 million in new funding is being made available to continue this popular initiative. • 9/25/2016 Gov. Malloy Announces State Grants to Assist Sixteen Small Towns with Capital Improvement Projects

  Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that sixteen towns throughout Connecticut will receive funding under the latest round of the state's Small Town Economic Assistance Program (STEAP), which assists smaller communities with infrastructure and capital improvement projects. The nearly $6 million in grants announced today are the second round of grants announced this year. An earlier round of STEAP 2016 grants was announced in February.

• 9/22/2016 Gov. Malloy: Sikorsky Agreement Will Benefit Connecticut Suppliers and Small Businesses

  Governor Dannel P. Malloy today highlighted part of the agreement that Lockheed Martin reached with the state that - in addition to committing to keep Sikorsky Aircraft and approximately 8,000 jobs in Connecticut through at least 2032 - will see the company's annual spending with in-state Connecticut suppliers nearly double. Currently, Sikorsky spends about $350 million per year with local suppliers, which are located throughout all regions of the state.
