Gov. Malloy Calls for Legislation to Ensure Women Receive Accurate Information on Medical Options in Response to Pregnancy Center Ruling
Governor Dannel P. Malloy is urging the Connecticut General Assembly to adopt legislation during the upcoming legislative session in response to the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling in NIFLA v. Becerra to ensure that women who seek counseling for pregnancy options receive complete and accurate information about available services. The court in yesterday’s 5-4 ruling struck down a California law regarding “crisis pregnancy centers,” which are often unlicensed facilities that purport to offer pregnancy services but refuse to inform clients about safe, legal, readily-available, and low-cost family planning options, including abortion services.

Gov. Malloy: Hartford Line Ridership Tops 10,000 in First Full Week of Regular Operations
Governor Dannel P. Malloy and the Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) announced today that ridership on the new CTrail Hartford Line passenger rail service exceeded 10,719 customers during its first full week of regular operations from Monday, June 18 through Sunday, June 24, during which full-fare tickets were required. The service launched on Saturday, June 16, and was free for all riders on the first two days of operation.

Gov. Malloy: Connecticut Receives $12.2 Million to Support the State’s First Health Information Exchange System

Malloy today announced that the State of Connecticut will receive a $12.2 million grant to support ongoing work that will establish Connecticut’s first statewide health information exchange. The grant, awarded by the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to the Connecticut Office of Health Strategy (OHS), supports efforts to develop a secure, modern health information exchange that facilitates the sharing of health data to further patient care, improve proper efficiency, and rein in the high cost of healthcare.

Gov. Malloy: Connecticut National Guard Performing Life-Saving Measures During Hurricane Florence Relief Efforts
