Thursday: Governor Malloy at Ground Zero for Wreath Laying Ceremony with President Obama
On Thursday, at the invitation of President Obama, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will participate in a wreath laying ceremony at Ground Zero in New York City, where relatives and friends of victims, first responders, and other elected officials will join to honor the memory of those who lost their lives in the September 11, 2001 attacks. Governor Malloy is attending to represent the people from Connecticut who died on 9/11, as well as their family members and loved ones.

Thursday: Malloy Administration Presents Bioscience Connecticut Proposal at Informational Legislative Hearing
On Thursday morning, members of the Malloy Administration and the University of Connecticut will present the Governor’s Bioscience Connecticut proposal at a joint informational hearing of the General Assembly’s Higher Education, Finance, Appropriations, Commerce, and Public Health Committees.

Thursday: Governor Malloy Attends Sub Simulator Groundbreaking in Groton
On Thursday morning, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will attend the groundbreaking ceremony for the new submarine simulator at the Naval Submarine Base in Groton. The simulator is a training device that will provide sailors with the realistic experience of being on the bridge of a submarine.

Friday: Governor Malloy Attends Dye House Ribbon Cutting, Addresses Old Saybrook Chamber, Participates in Ferry Crossing Groundbreaking, Speaks at World Youth Peace Summit
On Friday at 10:30 a.m., Governor Dannel P. Malloy will attend and speak at the ribbon cutting ceremony for Dye House in Manchester, a housing development that has converted a 1914 brick factory building into affordable apartments.

Friday: First Lady Cathy Malloy Reads to Students at Webster Magnet School in Hartford
On Friday morning, First Lady Cathy Malloy will participate in the “Second Annual Webster Reads” event at Noah Webster MicroSociety Magnet School in Hartford. Over thirty people will participate in the event, each reading a different selection to a class of students at the elementary school. The First Lady will read the book Listen to the Wind by Greg Mortenson and Susan L. Roth to a third grade class.

Gov. Malloy Appoints Mark Raymond as State's New Chief Information Officer
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that Mark Raymond will be the state’s new Chief Information Officer. On June 2, he will take over operations at the Department of Information Technology (DOIT). He will then oversee DOIT’s consolidation into the Department of Administrative Services and retain all operational responsibilities for Connecticut’s state technology infrastructure following consolidation.

Gov. Malloy: Bill Expanding College Access "Common Sense"
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today released the following statement hailing a measure granting in-state tuition to students who reside in the state and complete four years of high school here, graduating with their diploma. Passing the Senate today, the same measure passed the House of Representatives earlier this month.

Governor Dannel P. Malloy will attend the Hartford Business Journal’s e-Marketing & Technology Summit on Friday between 8:00-8:30 a.m., during which he will present the Strateg-e Awards, recognizing local companies that take advantage of the latest technology to grow their businesses. The conference will assemble the region’s leaders on website design, search engine optimization, e-newsletters, e-advertising, blogs, social networks, business automation and integration for a series of interactive workshops.

Governor Malloy Proposes Consolidated Department of Energy & Environmental Protection
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced his plan to create a newly consolidated Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP), an agency that will consolidate Connecticut’s widely dispersed energy functions, including the Department of Public Utility Control, with the Department of Environmental Protection to allow for a more effective coordination of state energy and environmental policies.
