Gov. Malloy Announces No Fares for Connecticut Metro-North Commuters this Thursday and Friday
Governor Dannel P. Malloy announced today that commuter rail service between Stamford and New York's Grand Central Terminal will resume Thursday morning, following just three days of suspended service as a result of the damage and havoc caused by Hurricane Sandy. The Governor has also waived all rail fares for Thursday and Friday's Metro-North rail service making rides into Grand Central free for the next two days.

Today: Gov. Malloy Visits Shoreline Towns in Southeastern Connecticut
Throughout the day today, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will make visits to view storm damage and speak with residents in towns along the Southeastern Connecticut shoreline, including Stonington, New London, Clinton, Westbrook, Madison and Guilford.

Thursday: Gov. Malloy to Discuss Efforts to Increase Jobs in Construction Industry
On Thursday morning, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will speak at the University of Hartford Construction Institute’s 18th annual State of the State event in East Hartford, where he will speak about his efforts to increase economic development in Connecticut, specifically addressing how his recently unveiled comprehensive energy strategy will create thousands of jobs in the construction industry while lowering energy costs for residents and businesses.

Thursday: Gov. Malloy & U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Napolitano to View Storm Damage
On Thursday, United States Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano will visit Connecticut and join Governor Dannel P. Malloy for a tour of certain locations in the state that were impacted by Hurricane Sandy. The time and locations of these visits will be announced as soon as they are confirmed.

Gov. Malloy: Report Reviews Economic Development Potential for State's Deep Water Ports
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced the completion of the Connecticut Deep Water Port Strategy Study which was commissioned by Connecticut's Department of Transportation (DOT) to guide the development of a long-term economic development strategy for the deep water ports in Bridgeport, New Haven, and New London. The study makes recommendations to protect existing commercial operations at these ports, and identifies new opportunities for business growth.
