Gov. Malloy Signs Order Formally Establishing Developmental Disabilities Council
Governor Dannel P. Malloy on Thursday signed an executive order formally establishing the Connecticut Council on Developmental Disabilities, a move that will allow the council to better carry out its mission of promoting self-determination, independence, productivity, integration and inclusion in all facets of community life for people with developmental disabilities.

Gov. Malloy Nominates Michael A. Caron as a Director of PURA
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced the interim appointment of Michael A. Caron to serve as a director of the state's Public Utilities Regulatory Authority (PURA), the entity charged with regulating rates and services of state electricity, natural gas, water, and telecommunications providers.

Gov. Malloy: State Awards 2012 "Keep Kids Safe" Grant
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that the state Office of Policy and Management awarded the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center a $45,150 grant as part of the Connecticut Keep Kids Safe Grant Program (CKKSGP).

Gov. Malloy Statement on June Jobs Report
Governor Dannel P. Malloy issued the following statement regarding today's release of the Connecticut Department of Labor's monthly "Labor Situation" report for June 2012, which indicates that the state's unemployment rate was 8.1 percent, compared to the national rate of 8.2 percent, and 5,000 private sector jobs were created during the month.

Gov. Malloy: Statewide Emergency Drill Shows Improved Coordination and Communication, Better Delivery of Services in the Event of a Disaster
Governor Dannel P. Malloy on Tuesday said that the four-day statewide emergency preparedness drill that began on Saturday and was designed to simulate a Category 3 hurricane has allowed the state, local officials, utility companies, and the private sector to exercise planning and preparation for the possibility of future emergencies.

Governor Dannel P. Malloy today thanked Glenn Marshall for his service as the Commissioner of Connecticut's Department of Labor (CTDOL). As has been reported, Commissioner Marshall submitted his resignation on June 29th citing family reasons.

Gov. Malloy: Residents Seeking Federal Assistance Must Register With FEMA
After receiving notification of the federal assistance available to cities and towns, businesses, individuals, and non-profits in Fairfield, New Haven, Middlesex and New London Counties, Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that residents in those counties who suffered damage as a result of Hurricane Sandy must register with FEMA by phone or online to access that aid.

Gov. Malloy: Town of Canterbury Awarded $265k STEAP Grant
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that the Town of Canterbury has been awarded a $265,000 Small Town Economic Assistance Program (STEAP) grant that will be used towards capital improvement projects at Dr. Helen Baldwin Middle School and Manship Park.
