Attorney General Tong Announces $188.6 Million Multistate Settlement with Medical Device Manufacturer Boston Scientific Corporation
Attorney General William Tong and Consumer Protection Commissioner Michelle H. Seagull today announced a multistate settlement with Boston Scientific Corporation (Boston) to resolve allegations of deceptive marketing of its surgical mesh products for women. The settlement requires Boston to pay $188.6 million to 47 states and the District of Columbia to resolve allegations that it deceptively marketed transvaginal surgical mesh devices to patients. Connecticut’s share of the settlement is $1,811,069.

Attorney General Tong, Department of Public Health Announce Agreement to Protect Carlson Place Residents
Attorney General William Tong and Acting Public Health Commissioner Deidre S. Gifford today announced an agreement to provide for the safe relocation of 26 residents of Carlson Place, and a second agreement which allows for a new owner to operate the residential care home in Norwalk after a complete renovation of the facility at no cost to the state.

Attorney General William Tong today announced a $678,901 joint state and federal settlement with L.A. Vision and optician Lisa Azinheira resolving allegations that the Hartford-based vision care service provider overbilled the state Medicaid program for vision care services and eyeglasses.
