Gov. Malloy: Project Will Transform Vacant, but Historic, Factory Building into Affordable, Safe Housing in New Haven
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today joined state Department of Housing (DOH) commissioner Evonne M. Klein, executives from Forest City Residential Development, New Haven Mayor John DeStefano, Jr. and other state and local officials to break ground on the construction of The Winchester Lofts, part of a two-phase $59.26 million project to turn the long-vacant, former Winchester Repeating Arms Co. factory into a mixed-use property with office space and housing units.

Gov. Malloy: FSC CT, Inc. Relocated Financial Firm to Greenwich
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced $5 million in loans and grants to FSC CT, Inc. to relocate Fifth Street’s operations to Greenwich. The company, through its Fifth Street affiliates, will bring approximately 50 jobs from its present location in White Plains, New York, and plans to add at least 46 more jobs as it grows over the coming decade.

Gov. Malloy: NewOak Capital Establishes New Operations in Danbury
Governor Dannel P. Malloy, joined by Department of Economic and Community Development (DECD) Commissioner Catherine Smith, and state and local officials, today announced that NewOak Capital, a financial services firm based in New York City, will establish NewOak Credit Services, LLC in Danbury. The expansion is expected to create up to 100 new jobs within three years.

Gov. Malloy: Economic Development Initiatives Help Small Businesses Create Jobs in Connecticut
Governor Dannel P. Malloy and Department of Economic and Community Development (DECD) Commissioner Catherine Smith today visited four small businesses in Manchester, Meriden, New Haven, and Stamford that are participating in the state's Small Business Express Program (EXP). The program, administered by DECD, offers grants and matching loans to Connecticut companies with 100 or fewer employees.

Gov. Malloy: State To Support Cutting-Edge Biotech Startup
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced $4.25 million in state support for Arvinas Inc., a New Haven-based biotechnology startup that is developing a new class of drugs to combat cancer and other diseases. Located in the city’s Science Park, Arvinas is founded on research licensed from Yale University and is in the process of hiring its first 25 employees.

Gov. Malloy: Small Business Program on Track to Create and Retain Thousands of Connecticut Jobs
Governor Dannel P. Malloy, joined by Senate President Donald Williams, Speaker of the House Brendan Sharkey, and Department of Economic and Community Development (DECD) Commissioner Catherine Smith, held a ceremonial bill signing today for Public Act 13-2, An Act Making Manufacturing Assistance Act Funds Available for the Small Business Express Program. The legislation permits DECD to administer $60 million in funding under EXP guidelines rather than under the Manufacturing Assistance Act, where it was originally allocated.

Gov. Malloy: Company Expansions in Wethersfield and Sprague Will Create and Retain 274 Jobs in Five Years
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced $5 million in loans to support the expansion of three Connecticut small businesses. The funding will help businesses in Wethersfield and Sprague expand operations, retain 156 jobs, and create 118 new jobs.
