• 12/3/2013 Gov. Malloy Issues Executive Order to Increase Transparency on Economic Development Incentives

  Governor Dannel P. Malloy, joined by State Comptroller Kevin Lembo and Department of Economic and Community Development (DECD) Commissioner Catherine Smith, today signed Executive Order (EO) No. 38 to make information regarding certain economic assistance and tax credits used to recruit or retain businesses more accessible to Connecticut residents.

• 7/15/2013 Monday: Gov. Malloy Signs Legislation Encouraging the Increase of Connecticut Exports into Foreign Markets and Growth of Local Businesses

  On Monday afternoon, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will hold a bill signing ceremony at Test Logic, a small business located in Middletown, where he will sign legislation (Public Act 13-56) that allows the state to prioritize economic assistance to certain businesses that are pursuing global commerce and will help get more Connecticut products into foreign markets.

• 10/16/2013 Gov. Malloy Tours Small Business in Bridgeport

  Governor Dannel P. Malloy today toured Byrne Woodworking, a manufacturer of high-end custom cabinetry and millwork, one year after the company received a Small Business Express (EXP) Grant. The business, at 170 Herbert St., Bridgeport, was able to hire three full-time cabinetmakers, retain seven jobs, and break ground on a 1,800-square-foot expansion.

• 3/26/2013 Gov. Malloy Directs Additional Agencies to Implement Lean Processes that Create Further Efficiencies & Cost Savings

  Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that he has directed the commissioners of each remaining state agency to begin implementing specific project management processes that have already shown positive results in several state agencies and are designed to maximize customer value while minimizing waste, create efficiencies, and ultimately save taxpayer dollars.

• 3/15/2013 Gov. Malloy: Navigators Group Moving Corporate Headquarters from NY to CT

  Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that The Navigators Group, Inc., an international specialty insurance holding company, will move its corporate headquarters and additional operations from New York to Stamford, Connecticut. The project is expected to create 200 jobs in the state within the next five years.

• 3/4/2013 Gov. Malloy: $29 Million Investment to Bolster Housing Efforts

  Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced a state investment of more than $29 million in nine housing developments in Brookfield, Canaan, Hartford, New Haven, Vernon, and West Hartford.

• 2/28/2013 Gov. Malloy: Recycling Market Development Council Will Strengthen Economy, Create Jobs, and Protect Environment

  Governor Dannel P. Malloy, joined by Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) Commissioner Daniel Esty, Department of Economic and Community Development (DECD) Commissioner Catherine Smith, and state leaders, today announced the formation of the Recycling Market Development Council to expand and strengthen Connecticut's efforts to recapture valuable materials that are in the waste stream.

  Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that the State Bond Commission voted to approve a $5 million loan to APS Technology, Inc. a global provider of high technology and services to the oil and gas drilling industry.

• 7/18/2013 Gov. Malloy: Norwalk's Akademos Will Expand, Create Jobs

  Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced $400,000 in grants and loans to Norwalk-based Akademos, Inc. The funding, through the Department of Economic and Community Development (DECD), will help the online book seller expand its operations and hire seven additional employees.

• 3/6/2013 Gov. Malloy: Small Business Development Center Partners With Public, Private and Higher Education Institutions to Strengthen Small Businesses and Create Jobs
