  Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced the Department of Economic and Community Development (DECD), the University of Connecticut (UConn), and the United Technologies Research Center (UTRC) will take part in a new Flexible Hybrid Electronics Manufacturing Innovation Institute (FHE MII), a virtual institute consisting of more than 160 companies, universities, and non-profits. As part of the institute, manufacturers in the state can gain support to build up their capabilities in new flexible, hybrid electronic technologies.

Malloy today announced that ASML, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of chip-making equipment, is planning to substantially grow its operations in Wilton, Connecticut through an expansion project that will see the creation of up to 524 new jobs added to its current workforce in the town of 1,222 employees.

Malloy today announced that the State of Connecticut has begun an application process for towns and cities that are interested in participating in the federal government’s recently established Opportunity Zone program. Klein, and Connecticut Housing Finance Authority (CHFA) Executive Director Karl Kilduff today announced that the State of Connecticut will award more than $61.5 million in grants and loans to help create, rehabilitate, or expand 24 housing developments in 20 towns and cities across the state. The investments will create or rehabilitate 978 homes.

  Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that Mayborn Group, a global manufacturer of baby products, has relocated its U.S. headquarters from Norwood, Massachusetts to Stamford, Connecticut. The company currently employs 16 and plans to add an additional 7 workers by 2019.
