Gov. Malloy Announces $3.5 Million in Funding to Remediate and Revitalize 59 Acres of Land in Eight Municipalities
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that $3.6 million in state funding is being awarded to eleven projects in eight Connecticut municipalities to assess, remediate and revitalize blighted properties in their communities – also known as “brownfields” – and put them back into productive use.

Connecticut Receives More Than $30 Million to Support Local Clean Water Projects
Governor Dannel P. Malloy announced today that the State of Connecticut has been awarded over $30 million in Clean Water and Drinking Water State Revolving Loan Fund grants by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency that will be used to help finance community-based water infrastructure projects, including for public drinking water systems and municipal sewage plants.

On Sunday, October 21, 2018 at approximately 12:30 p.m., Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) Environmental Conservation (EnCon) Police Officers responded to Candlewood Lake in Brookfield for a report of a capsized motorboat with two adult males aboard the vessel.

DEEP, US Fish and Wildlife Service and Congresswoman DeLauro Launch World’s First Full-Size Solar/Electric Pumpout Boat in Branford
The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP), U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro, along with the Town of Branford and East Shore District Health Department today launched the world’s first full-size solar/electric pumpout boat which will be used to remove recreational boat sewage from vessels in the Branford River and Branford Harbor starting next Spring.

Illegal Deer Hunting Arrests

DEEP Launches Second Round of Electric Bike Voucher Program
(HARTFORD) — Today, the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) announced that the second round of the State’s successful electric bicycle (eBike) voucher program will open for applications at 12 p.m. today, on September 17. This program offers residents an alternative clean transportation option, with increased incentives for low-to-moderate income individuals and those who live in environmental justice (EJ) communities. DEEP held an event in Bushnell Park in Hartford yesterday with local and state officials, and eBike advocates and retailers to celebrate the launch of the second round of the program.

12th Annual Saltwater Fishing Day Happening August 10th
