  The Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (EnCon) Environmental Conservation Police arrested two individuals in connection with the vandalism and fire that occurred on Sunday, March 24, 2019 at Silver Sands State Park in Milford.

• 4/18/2019 Governor Lamont Nominates Marissa Paslick Gillett to Serve as a Commissioner of the Public Utilities Regulatory Authority

  Governor Ned Lamont today announced that he is nominating Marissa Paslick Gillett of Baltimore, Maryland to serve as a commissioner of the Connecticut Public Utilities Regulatory Authority (PURA), the state entity responsible for regulating the rates and services of Connecticut’s investor-owned electricity, natural gas, water, and telecommunications companies.

• 2/7/2019 DEEP Announces $1 Million in Grants Available for Water Quality Improvement Projects

  The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) announced today that Connecticut has received approximately $1 million in funds from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) that are available for communities, local conservation groups, and other organizations to improve water quality in lakes, rivers, and streams that are not meeting water quality standards. DEEP administers these grants and is now accepting proposals for fiscal year 2019.
