Gov. Malloy Orders One-Hour Delayed Opening for State Offices Thursday
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that all state offices will have a one-hour delayed opening on Thursday, March 8, 2018, due to inclement weather conditions. Nonessential, first-shift employees should report to work one hour from their normal reporting time.

Gov. Malloy: Indeed’s Expansion in Connecticut Continues as the Company Plans to Hire an Additional 500 Workers
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that Indeed, the world’s number one job site, is once again expanding its presence in Connecticut. The HR tech company, which just launched an expansion project last year, is now planning to add an additional 500 workers in Stamford, bringing its total employment in Connecticut to 1,700 workers.

Gov. Malloy Issues Executive Order Honoring President Bush, Calls for a Minute of Silence at 10am Wednesday
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today issued the following executive order declaring Wednesday, December 5, a Day of Remembrance in honor of President George H.W. Bush and asking Connecticut residents to observe one minute of silence beginning at 10:00 a.m. on that day.

Gov. Malloy and Lt. Gov. Wyman Celebrate International Women’s Day, Push for Connecticut Fairness Agenda
Governor Dannel P. Malloy, Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman, Connecticut Department of Labor (CTDOL) Commissioner Scott Jackson, and advocates today marked International Women’s Day by pushing for a package of legislative proposals aimed at increasing fairness in the workplace for women and people of color. The legislation, which Governor Malloy first outlined in his State of the State address, focus on ensuring equal pay for equal work, expanding the state’s earned sick time law, raising the minimum wage, and preventing workplace sexual harassment.

Gov. Malloy and Attorney General Jepsen Announce Agreement With Travelers to Provide Supplemental Assistance to Crumbling Foundation Homeowners

Malloy and Attorney General George Jepsen today announced that the State of Connecticut has entered into a memorandum of understanding with Hartford-based Travelers Companies, Inc. to provide supplemental financial assistance to current and former Travelers policyholders who file claims and receive awards to remediate their crumbling concrete foundations through the state’s new captive insurance program.

Gov. Malloy Announces Partial Activation of State Emergency Operations Center at 4am Tuesday
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that he will partially activate the state’s Emergency Operations Center (EOC) beginning at 4:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 to monitor storm conditions across the state and prepare for winter weather that is forecast to have an impact on morning and potentially afternoon travel. Forecasts are showing a range of accumulation across the state, with the heaviest amounts occurring in central and eastern Connecticut.

Malloy this morning announced that state offices will be closed for the first shift on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 due to the significant snowfall that is impacting the state and expected to continue into the evening. Gov. Malloy, Congressional Delegation Announce $9.1 Million Build Grant for Stamford Transportation Center
Governor Dannel P. Malloy, Senator Richard Blumenthal, Senator Chris Murphy, and Rep. Jim Himes today announced that U.S. Department of Transportation has awarded a $9.16 million BUILD Transportation grant to fund improvements to the Stamford Transportation Center. The grant – which will be matched by $13.74 million in additional state money – will fund upgrades to five elevators and 17 escalators and enhancements to the internal circulation system. The investment will ensure the station can operate in a state of good repair for the next 25 years and beyond.

Gov. Malloy Encourages Commuters to Exercise Caution During Snowstorm on Tuesday
Governor Dannel P. Malloy is encouraging Connecticut residents to exercise caution if they need to travel tomorrow (Tuesday, March 13, 2018) due to the anticipated snowstorm that is forecast to impact the state throughout the day. As of Monday night, state offices are expected to open Tuesday on a normal work schedule, however the Governor is encouraging state employees to stay alert for potential announcements in the morning in the event that additional updates may be made.

Gov. Malloy Commemorates Imminent Completion of Silver Sands State Park Renovations
Governor Dannel P. Malloy and Department of Energy and Environment Protection (DEEP) Commissioner Rob Klee today cut a ribbon to celebrate the imminent completion of long-awaited renovations at Silver Sands State Park in Milford. The project, which will be fully completed by the beginning of the 2019 beach season, includes three new buildings, including a concession building, restrooms, and offices. A new beach boardwalk will connect the previously existing boardwalk to the bathhouse, and a short new boardwalk across the tidal wetlands will connect the existing main boardwalk to the new bathhouse.
