Gov. Malloy Launches Data.CT.Gov to Give Public Unprecedented Amount of Access to Government Data

Malloy, joined by state Comptroller Kevin Lembo, today launched Data.ct.gov, Connecticut’s new open data portal that allows widespread amounts of raw government data to be collected, placed on the internet, and shared with the public in a major effort to increase government efficiency and transparency by providing an easily accessible database that residents can use for any number of purposes.

Gov. Malloy: Let's Enhance Our Efforts to Reduce Tobacco Use Among Minors
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced the introduction of legislation to ban the sale of electronic cigarettes to minors and strengthen Connecticut’s anti-smoking laws. Electronic cigarettes, or e-cigarettes, are currently not regulated in the State of Connecticut.

Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that MTA Metro-North Railroad will run a special, extra New Haven Line train on Friday, March 28, to accommodate UConn men’s basketball fans expected to travel to New York City for the NCAA tournament at Madison Square Garden (MSG).

Gov. Malloy Nominates Judges Eliot Prescott and Raheem Mullins to Appellate Court, Names 16 Others to Superior Court
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that he is nominating the Honorable Eliot D. Prescott of West Hartford and the Honorable Raheem L. Mullins of Cromwell to serve as judges of the Connecticut Appellate Court. In addition, the Governor is nominating 16 attorneys to become judges of the Superior Court, two to serve as Family Support Magistrates, and one to serve as a Workers’ Compensation Commissioner.

Gov. Malloy: President Obama to Speak at Central Connecticut State University
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that President Obama will speak at Central Connecticut State University on Wednesday, in an effort to garner support for increasing the minimum wage to $10.10 an hour. They will be joined in New Britain by Governor Deval L. Patrick of Massachusetts, Governor Lincoln D. Chafee of Rhode Island and Governor Peter E. Shumlin of Vermont.

Gov. Malloy, Legislative Leaders Applaud Committee Approval of Minimum Wage Increase on Eve of Presidential Visit
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today lauded the Connecticut General Assembly’s Labor Committee, led by State Senator Gary Holder-Winfield and State Representative Peter Tercyak, for approving legislation he introduced that will increase the state’s minimum wage to $10.10, mirroring recent efforts by President Barack Obama and other Congressional leaders to raise the federal minimum wage to that same amount.
