  Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that he has proclaimed May 5-9, 2014 as National Teacher Appreciation Week in the State of Connecticut. Governor Malloy, Lieutenant Governor Nancy Wyman, and Commissioner of Education Stefan Pryor released the following statements in honor of National Teacher Day, Tuesday, May 6, 2014.

  Governor Dannel P. Malloy said today that $5 million to assist cities, towns, and land trusts with the purchase of important lands to protect as open space is expected to be approved when the state Bond Commission meets May 30.

  Governor Dannel P. Malloy on Friday morning announced that he has signed legislation clarifying that it is illegal for a person to falsely represent themselves as being the recipient of a medal or decoration for military service when it is done with the intent to fraudulently obtain money, property, goods or services.

  Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that he has signed into law a bill that will reduce unwanted, unsolicited commercial phone intrusions by modernizing the state’s “Do Not Call” registry to include text messages in addition to the already prohibited phone calls.

  Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that $3.1 million to fund improvements at Sherwood Island State Park in Westport is expected to be approved at the next meeting of the state Bond Commission. The funding will allow for major renovations to the park’s main pavilion, among other upgrades.
