  Today, on what may prove to be the hottest day of the year, Senator Steve Cassano (D-Manchester) and Governor Dannel P. Malloy held a press conference at the Manchester Senior Center to announce a 5% bill reduction for all Connecticut Light & Power electric customers. They also outlined additional ways in which energy reform passed this year will help to reduce electric bills going forward, and lower air conditioning costs.

• 7/27/2011 Thursday: Gov. Malloy Attends Farmington River Trail Ceremony in Canton, Continues on Jobs Tour in New Haven

  On Thursday morning, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will attend a ceremony to commemorate the opening of a stretch of the Farmington River Trail in Canton. Final construction of a three-phase project on the section that travels a former rail line on the Farmington River from Unionville through Canton has been completed, connecting neighborhoods along the Farmington Valley Greenway and the Multi-Use Trail to two shopping areas and municipal centers.

• 7/5/2011 Wednesday: Gov. Malloy Visits Jobs Funnel Program, Attends National Guard Send Off Ceremony

  On Wednesday morning, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will continue his Jobs Tour with a stop at the construction site of the new police headquarters in New Britain. The project is part of the Jobs Funnel Program, which prepares qualified unemployed/under-employed adult residents in selected communities for good paying construction jobs and career pathways in the building trades industry. Approximately 1,500 Connecticut residents have been placed into construction work through Jobs Funnel efforts in recent years.

Individuals, teams, organizations and families participating in the walk have been raising donations for the Center for Women and Families of Fairfield County, which provides a variety of programs and services to address the ongoing issues of domestic violence and sexual assault in their community.
