Gov. Malloy: More Than 6,200 Residents Have Applied for the Connecticut Veterans ID
Governor Dannel P. Malloy announced today that more than 6,270 Connecticut veterans have applied to participate in the Connecticut’s Veterans’ ID program, a joint initiative between the Department of Motor Vehicles’ (DMV) and Department of Veterans' Affairs (DVA) that gives veterans an option to place an American Flag symbol on a state-issued license or identity card to designate his or her veteran’s status.

Gov. Malloy: State Continues to Make Investments to Ensure Safe, Reliable and Convenient Train Service for Residents

Malloy today announced that the State Bond Commission has approved more than $53 million for the Connecticut Department of Transportation (ConnDOT) to begin work to replace the New Haven Line’s 118-year-old Walk Bridge in Norwalk, a project that will create or retain approximately 4,500 construction-related jobs.

Malloy today announced that the state’s Subsidized Training and Employment Program known as “Step Up,” which was enacted in 2012 in an effort to help small businesses in Connecticut create new jobs by assisting with workforce training, is continuing its efforts to expand its job creation goals, resulting in nearly 700 companies creating 2,743 new jobs in the state since its launch.

Gov. Malloy Orders Unprecedented Amount of State Data to be Made Available to the Public in Major Transparency and Open Government Effort
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced he has signed an executive order that will result in widespread amounts of raw government data to be collected, placed on the internet, and shared with the public in a major effort to increase transparency and provide a useful database that can be utilized by residents for any number of purposes. The Governor explained that the purpose of the order is to display data in its rawest form, before it has been aggregated and analyzed.
