Gov. Malloy & AG Jepsen: Federal Proposal Would Undermine, Weaken Tribal Acknowledgement Criteria
In official comments submitted to the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) today, Attorney General George Jepsen wrote that the BIA’s proposed regulations would “seriously weaken and undermine the core substantive criteria” for federal tribal recognition and would have the effect of reversing prior acknowledgment decisions affecting the state of Connecticut. Governor Dannel P. Malloy said that the proposed regulations would have a profound effect on the state.

Gov. Malloy & AG Jepsen Remind Coaches, Parents to Beware Sports-related Concussion Signs and Symptoms
With the fall school sports season upon us, Governor Dannel P. Malloy and Attorney General George Jepsen are reminding student athletes, parents and coaches that head injuries and concussions are serious and that Connecticut law requires students who suffer a blow to the head or receive a concussion diagnosis to sit out games and practices until cleared by a licensed medical professional.

Gov. Malloy: Bioscience in Connecticut Moves Forward
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today signed new legislation creating a $200 million Bioscience Innovation Fund during a ceremonial event at the University of Connecticut Health Center (UCHC). The fund will make investments over the next 10 years in the form of grants, equity investments, loans and loan guarantees to foster innovation in smaller companies.

Governor Dannel P. Malloy is urging riders of Metro-North’s New Haven Line to seek alternate service and avoid taking the train today, Wednesday, September 25, 2013, if at all possible, due to the loss of Con Edison feeders that supply power to the line between Stamford and Grand Central Terminal.

Gov. Malloy Orders Licensing and Higher Education Processes to be Simplified for U.S. Veterans

Malloy today announced that he has signed an executive order that will streamline the process for veterans of the United States military when seeking to obtain occupational certifications and licenses, and simplifies the process for awarding college credit to veterans for military education.
