4/5/2011 Wednesday: Governor Malloy Speaks at Realtors Meeting, Attends Electric Vehicle Charging Station Event, Visits CT Invention Convention, Addresses Home Builders Meeting, Gives Remarks at Opening of CT
On Wednesday morning, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will speak at the annual meeting of the Connecticut Association of Realtors in Hartford. Also on Wednesday morning, Governor Malloy will join The Hartford’s CEO Liam McGee to unveil new electric vehicle charging stations at The Hartford’s headquarters and participate in a ceremonial first charge of an electric vehicle. The Hartford is one of the first companies in the Hartford area to provide charging stations for its employees.
4/12/2011 Wednesday: Governor Malloy Attends UConn School of Nursing Groundbreaking- Receives Award at Boston College
On Wednesday afternoon, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will join officials from the University of Connecticut at a groundbreaking ceremony for the new Widmer Wing building addition at the UConn School of Nursing in Storrs. The new wing will be home to the school’s enrollment and admission services, classrooms, and clinical simulation laboratories.
4/11/2011 Tuesday: Governor Malloy Wraps Up Town Hall Meetings in Middletown
On Tuesday evening, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will hold a Town Hall Meeting in Middletown – the final stop in his current series of seventeen constituent meetings that has taken him from one end of the state to the other. The seventeen meetings, which began February 21 in Bridgeport, have given the Governor an opportunity to conduct an open dialogue with the residents of Connecticut on the pressing economic issues facing our state.
4/4/2011 Tuesday: Governor Malloy Attends Work Zone Safety Kick-Off Event in Newington, Holds Town Hall in New Britain
On Tuesday afternoon, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will give remarks at a press conference in Newington to kick off Work Zone Safety Awareness Week, an annual campaign sponsored by the Department of Transportation, State Police, CT Police Chiefs Association and the utility companies to promote the safety of workers and motorists in roadway work zones. On Tuesday evening, Governor Malloy will hold a town hall meeting in New Britain, the fifteenth stop in his statewide series of 17 town hall meetings to discuss the state’s pressing economic and budgetary issues face-to-face with state residents.

On Wednesday morning, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will be the keynote speaker at the Greater Meriden Chamber of Commerce breakfast. The Governor has been visiting Chambers of Commerce across the state over the past few months, where he has spoken about his efforts to improve the business climate in Connecticut and get our state’s fiscal house in order to help create new jobs and keep the ones we have.

Malloy will join Congressman John Larson, Lieutenant Governor Nancy Wyman, the Administrator of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services Dr. Donald Berwick, and Deputy Commissioner of the Department of Public Health Jeannette DeJesús for a meeting about federal healthcare reform implementation in Connecticut.
4/16/2011 Sunday: Governor Malloy & Lt. Governor Wyman Attend UConn Victory Parade, Rally
On Sunday afternoon, Governor Dannel P. Malloy and Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman will march in the UConn Men’s Basketball Team parade in Hartford, which will be followed by a victory rally outside of the State Capitol building.
4/9/2011 Sunday: Governor Malloy Attends News Conference for Red Cross Workers in New Britain, Attends Litchfield Hills Film Festival Showing
On Sunday afternoon, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will attend a news conference in New Britain being hosted by Red Cross blood collection workers who have been working without a contract for two years. Later Sunday afternoon, Governor Malloy will attend the Litchfield Hills Film Festival showing of "In a Town This Size," a documentary film about an Oklahoma town and its long-suppressed tragedy of childhood sexual abuse. A discussion with the filmmaker, Patrick V. Brown, will follow.

4/29/2011 Saturday: Governor Malloy Attends East Coast Greenway Trail Council and Board Meeting in Simsbury
On Saturday, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will be a guest speaker during the afternoon session of the East Coast Greenway Trail Council and Board meeting in Simsbury. Governor Malloy has been a proponent of the Greenway since he was Mayor of Stamford, advocating for the completion of Connecticut’s 196-mile portion of the 3,000-mile trail, which when complete will extend the length of the East Coast from Canada to Florida.
4/27/2011 Malloy Administration, Chairman Willis Announce Higher Ed Consolidation Agreement
Mark Ojakian, Deputy Secretary of the Office of Policy and Management and Higher Education Chairman Roberta B. Willis announced an agreement concerning Governor Dannel P. Malloy’s proposal to consolidate the state’s community colleges, the Connecticut State University system and Charter Oak College to flatten administration and direct more money to students and classroom instruction. The deal had been in the works since last week, and details were finalized last night.

4/8/2011 Governor Malloy Announces Connecticut Awarded $33 Million to Help Unemployed Homeowners Facing Threat of Foreclosure
Connecticut Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that Connecticut will receive $33 million in aid from the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) through the Emergency Homeowners' Loan Program to assist homeowners facing foreclosure. Applications for this program are now being accepted by the Connecticut Housing Finance Authority (CHFA).
