  (HARTFORD, CT) – Governor Dannel P. Malloy and Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman released the following statements regarding today’s vote in Congress to adopt legislation implementing Trumpcare:

• 5/11/2017 Gov. Malloy Signs Legislation Protecting LGBTQ Youth from the Destructive and Discredited Practice of Conversion Therapy

  (HARTFORD, CT) – Governor Dannel P. Malloy this evening signed into law legislation that will protect LGBTQ youth in the state from the destructive and discredited practice of conversion therapy. The so-called treatment, which seeks to change a person’s sexual orientation or gender identity, has been discredited by nearly every credible medical and psychiatric group in the country and oftentimes includes destructive practices that are harmful to children, such as electric shock therapy.

• 6/26/2017 Gov. Malloy and Lt. Gov. Wyman Announce Impact of Senate Republican Version of Trumpcare on Connecticut

  (HARTFORD, CT) – Governor Dannel P. Malloy and Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman today announced that according to a new analysis of the impact on Connecticut of the Better Care Reconciliation Act – the Senate Republican version of Trumpcare – healthcare coverage for tens-of-thousands of state residents could be threatened, and as much as $2.9 billion in annual costs would be added to the state at full implementation in 2026.

  (HARTFORD, CT) – Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that he is directing U.S. and state flags in Connecticut to fly at half-staff beginning immediately in honor of U.S. Navy Sonar Technician 3rd Class Ngoc T. Truong Huynh of Oakville, who was among those who died on board the U.S.S. Fitzgerald in a collision in Japan.

Malloy today highlighted the release of the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s (FBI) annual state-by-state crime report for the 2016 calendar year, which shows that crime rates continue to decline in Connecticut, which has had the largest reduction in violent crime of any state in the nation over the last four years.
