• 12/1/2016 Gov. Malloy Directs State Flags to Half-Staff in Honor of State Representative Betty Boukus

  (HARTFORD, CT) – Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that he is directing the flag of the State of Connecticut to fly at half-staff in honor of State Representative Betty Boukus (D-New Britain, Plainville), who passed away early this morning. State flags should be lowered beginning immediately until sunset on the date of interment, which has not yet been determined.

  (Hartford, CT) – Lieutenant Governor Nancy Wyman, Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) Commissioner Sean M. Connolly, and Major General Thaddeus Martin, Adjutant General of the Connecticut National Guard, today inducted ten veterans into the Connecticut Veterans Hall of Fame. Established in 2005, the Veterans Hall of Fame recognizes the continued service of Connecticut veterans who have made significant contributions to their communities after leaving military service.

Schwartz, announced today that the Connecticut Veterans Parade, held annually in Hartford, has been recognized by the Veterans Day National Committee as one of the nation's "Veterans Day Regional Sites".  This is the third year that the Veterans Parade has been recognized by the National Committee.
