Malloy today announced that $13.6 million in state funding will be awarded to 14 municipalities across Connecticut to assess, remediate and revitalize blighted properties in their communities – also known as “brownfields” – and put them back into productive use. The projects encompass 89 acres of redevelopment.

Last month, Amazon announced that it was seeking a site for a second headquarters – known as “Amazon HQ2” – in North America, which will create tens of thousands of additional jobs.

• 7/11/2017 Gov. Malloy Announces Indeed to Significantly Expand Presence in Connecticut, Increase Stamford Workforce to Over 1,200 Employees

  Governor Dannel P. Malloy and executives from Indeed today announced that the internet company has plans to significantly increase its presence in Connecticut by investing $26.5 million to expand its Stamford offices, where its workforce already exceeds 700 employees. The expansion project will see the creation of as many as 500 new jobs in the coming years, bringing the company’s Connecticut job presence to over 1,200 employees.

• 5/9/2017 Gov. Malloy Announces Pharmaceutical Company Opening Manufacturing Facility in Windsor That Will Create 361 New Jobs

  Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that SCA Pharmaceuticals, an Arkansas-based company, has decided to establish a presence in Connecticut through the creation of a new 90,000 square-foot manufacturing facility in Windsor, where the company has plans to create approximately 361 new jobs over the next four years. SCA manufactures injectable pharmaceuticals in ready-to-administer dosages for use at hospitals and healthcare facilities. The company helps healthcare facilities increase efficiencies and reduce costs while improving patient care.

• 3/27/2017 Gov. Malloy Announces Opportunities to Remediate and Revitalize Brownfields in Connecticut

  Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced the Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development (DECD) is now accepting applications for its eleventh round of competitive grant funding for the state’s Brownfield Remediation Program, under which the state partners with local municipalities and economic development agencies to put blighted properties back into productive use. Under this round, a total of $4 million will be earmarked for remediation projects and $1 million will be reserved for assessment projects.

• 3/24/2017 Gov. Malloy Announces Colt to Expand Operations, Grow Jobs in Connecticut

  Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that Colt’s Manufacturing Company is purchasing its West Hartford headquarters and manufacturing facility and making new investments to expand operations and grow jobs in Connecticut. The acquisition of this property is a key part of the company’s growth strategy and is part of a $23 million project by Colt that targets the retention of its current workforce of 600 employees and will lead to the creation of an additional 100 jobs at the location over the next five years.

  Governor Dannel P. Malloy and Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development (DECD) Commissioner Catherine Smith today announced that the State of Connecticut has chosen two sites for its proposal to Amazon for the company’s second headquarters – the Hartford and Stamford regions. Last month, Amazon announced that it was seeking a site for a second headquarters – known as “Amazon HQ2” – in North America, which will create tens of thousands of additional jobs and bring billions in investment.

• 10/3/2017 Gov. Malloy and Charter Communications Announce Charter’s Plan to Build New Headquarters, Add Jobs

  Governor Dannel P. Malloy and Charter Communications, Inc., a Fortune 100 company and the second-largest cable operator in the United States, today announced the company’s plans to build a 500,000 square foot, 15-story headquarters at 406 Washington Boulevard in Stamford. Following its commitment to create and retain 400 jobs under the state’s First Five Program in 2012, Charter has committed to create an additional 1,100 new corporate headquarters jobs and has agreed to a total of $100 million in planned capital expenditures in Connecticut over the next several years.
