  The President today declared an emergency exists in the State of Connecticut and ordered federal aid to supplement state and local response efforts due to the emergency conditions resulting from Hurricane Irene beginning on August 26, 2011, and continuing.

  On Wednesday morning, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will attend a ceremony dedicating a memorial garden on the grounds of Hartford Distributors, Inc. in honor of the eight men whose lives were lost on the site on August 3, 2010. The garden includes eight stainless steel sculptures in remembrance of each of the men.

  Governor Dannel P. Malloy today welcomed federal approval of a flat $381 monthly premium in the Connecticut Pre-Existing Condition Insurance Plan, a move expected to boost enrollment in the year-old program by slashing premium costs by as much as 57% for older beneficiaries.
