Governor Dannel P. Malloy and Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman released the following statements regarding the passing of Gerald A. Lamb, who served as Connecticut State Treasurer from 1963 to 1970, becoming the first African American in the nation elected to that position and the first in Connecticut elected to a statewide office.

Gov. Malloy Applauds Committee Approval of Legislation Protecting Owners of Domestic Horses
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today applauded the General Assembly’s Environment Committee for voting to approve legislation he introduced that protects horse owners or keepers, and the state’s associated agriculture industry, by clarifying into law that domesticated horses are not wild animals and as such are not “inherently dangerous.”

Gov. Malloy Urges Legislature to Approve $25 Million to Help Shoreline Residents Prepare for Future Severe Weather and Flooding
Governor Dannel P. Malloy is urging the Connecticut General Assembly to adopt legislation he introduced that will provide an authorization of up to $25 million to support the launch of the Shoreline Resiliency Fund – a low-interest loan program the Governor created late last year that will help residents who are subject to coastal flooding elevate their homes and flood-proof their businesses.

Gov. Malloy: New Haven Line Power Upgrade Completed, Doubling Electrical Supply
Governor Dannel P. Malloy and the Connecticut Department of Transportation announced today that the $10 million upgrade of the power supply for the New Haven Line has been successfully completed, giving full back-up power redundancy for the east- and westbound lines.
