Gov. Malloy Announces Fund to Spur Economic Growth and Transit Oriented Development Along Expanding Connecticut Transportation Corridors
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced the creation of a $15 million Transit Oriented Development Pre-Development and Acquisition Fund to provide financing that will encourage developers to carry out transit oriented development in communities with station stops along the CTFastrak and New Haven-Hartford-Springfield (NHHS) transit corridors.

Gov. Malloy Applauds Bipartisan House Passage of Bill in Support of UTC Agreement
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today hailed the Connecticut House of Representatives’ bipartisan passage of a bill that supports an agreement the Governor reached last month with United Technologies Corporation (UTC) under which the company will invest up to $500 million to upgrade and expand its aerospace research and development and manufacturing facilities over the next five years.

Gov. Malloy Applauds Committee Approval of UTC Agreement
Governor Dannel P. Malloy thanked the General Assembly’s Finance, Revenue and Bonding Committee, especially its co-chairs State Senator John Fonfara and State Representative Pat Widlitz, for unanimously voting to approve an agreement that the Governor reached last month with United Technologies Corporation that will ensure the aerospace company continues its strong presence in Connecticut and will have an impact on thousands of good-paying jobs in the state.

Gov. Malloy Announces Funds to Support Affordable Housing Throughout the State
Governor Dannel P. Malloy, Department of Housing (DOH) Commissioner Evonne M. Klein, and Connecticut Housing Finance Authority (CHFA) President and Executive Director Eric Chatman today announced investments of more than $70 million in federal and state funds for 16 affordable housing projects across the state that will transform their communities and build and rehabilitate a total of 694 affordable rental apartments.

Gov. Malloy's Common Core Taskforce to Meet on Wednesday in Cromwell
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that the Educators’ Common Core Implementation Taskforce is scheduled to hold its second meeting on Wednesday, April 9, at Cromwell High School, located at 1 Donald Harris Drive in Cromwell. The meeting will begin at 4:30 p.m. and will be held in library.

Gov. Malloy: Crime Victims Deserve to Have Their Rights Enforced

Malloy today announced that he is creating the Victims’ Rights Enforcement Advisory Commission – an expert panel of criminal justice and victim service professionals who will review policies, services, and victims’ rights in the state, and make specific recommendations in the areas of compliance with and enforcement of the constitutional and statutory rights of crime victims.

Malloy will speak at a news conference in Hartford hosted by a coalition of more than 20 state gun violence prevention organizations marking the one-year anniversary of a comprehensive legislative package of reforms on gun violence prevention, mental health initiatives and school safety improvements that was approved by the Connecticut General Assembly and signed into law by the Governor.
