Gov. Malloy Announces More Than $37 Million for Capital Improvement Projects at State’s Community Colleges
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that more than $37 million in capital improvement projects for the state's community colleges will be placed on the agenda for an upcoming meeting of the State Bond Commission. The funding will be used for new instruction, research and laboratory equipment; development of IT networks; and other various renovation and construction projects at the colleges.

Gov. Malloy: $9.6 Million for Step Up Incentives will Create Jobs for More than 1,000 Unemployed Veterans and Jobseekers
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that the Bond Commission has approved $9.6 million for the continuation of the state's Subsidized Training & Employment Program (STEP UP), which provides small businesses and manufacturers two types of hiring incentives – a scaled, six month Small Business Wage Subsidy Program and a Small Manufacturer Training Grant Program that provides up to $12,500 over a six-month period.

Gov. Malloy: Connecticut Awarded $2.8 Million in Federal Transit Administration Relief Funds for Hurricane Sandy
Governor Dannel P. Malloy and Connecticut Department of Transportation (DOT) Commissioner James Redeker announced today that the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) has approved Connecticut's request for $2.8 million in relief funds to offset the costs of Hurricane Sandy preparation and response efforts.

Gov. Malloy Directs Flags to Full-Staff at Sunset on Friday
Governor Dannel P. Malloy directed flags to full-staff at sunset on Friday, March 29, 2013. Flags were flying at half-staff in honor of Marine Lance Corporal Roger W. Muchnick Jr., 23, who was killed in a training accident in Nevada. Lance Corporal Muchnick will be buried in Massachusetts on Friday.

Gov. Malloy: Edith Prague to Head Department on Aging
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today tapped former State Senator Edith Prague of Columbia to serve as the Commissioner of the newly-formed State Department on Aging (SDA). SDA will ensure that Connecticut's elderly population has access to the supportive services necessary to live with dignity, security, and independence, and is responsible for administering a variety of federally-funded programs under the Older American's Act.

Gov. Malloy Formally Ends Civil Preparedness Emergencies from Hurricane Sandy and February Blizzard
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today signed Executive Order No. 33, which formally ends the state of civil preparedness emergencies declared by the Governor on October 27, 2012 and February 8, 2013. The order also rescinds the previously issued executive orders related to the storms.
