Gov. Malloy: "Katie Beckett" Waiver Program to Serve 100 More Medically Fragile Children
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that Connecticut’s Medicaid program for medically fragile children, known as the Katie Beckett waiver, will be helping up to 100 additional families care for their children at home, instead of a hospital.

Gov. Malloy: State and MTA Jointly Pursuing Federal Funding to Replace "Walk" Bridge

Malloy, joined by Department of Transportation (ConnDOT) Commissioner James Redeker, officials from Metropolitan Transportation Authority and Metro-North, today announced that ConnDOT and MTA will conduct an operational review of procedures at the Walk Bridge in Norwalk in order to minimize the risk for failure in the future.

Gov. Malloy Signs Legislation Protecting Good Samaritans for the Administration of Drug Overdose Treatment
Governor Dannel P. Malloy, joined by CT Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS) Commissioner Pat Rehmer and other state and local officials, today held a bill signing ceremony for legislation (Public Act 14-61) that grants civil and criminal liability protection to a bystander who administers Naloxone Hydrochloride (known as Narcan) in good faith to someone who has overdosed.

Gov. Malloy Signs Legislation to Advance Revitalization Projects Around the State
Governor Dannel P. Malloy, joined by Waterbury Mayor Neil O’Leary and other state and local officials, today held a bill signing ceremony for legislation that implements a series of improvements to the state’s brownfield programs, as recommended by the General Assembly’s Brownfield Working Group, an eleven member task force created to examine the remediation and redevelopment of brownfields in Connecticut.

Gov. Malloy Signs Legislation Eliminating Nearly 1,000 Pages of State Regulations
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today signed legislation he proposed earlier this year that will eliminate nearly a thousand pages of state regulations that have been identified as obsolete, duplicative, excessively burdensome, or otherwise ineffective or unnecessary, in a major effort to make Connecticut’s regulations more streamlined, readable and user-friendly for citizens, especially small businesses.

Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced American Woolen Company, Inc. is in the process of purchasing Warren Corporation’s operations and assets in Stafford Springs, which is one of the last working textile mills in Eastern Connecticut.

Governor Dannel P. Malloy today signed P.A. 14-82, An Act Concerning a State-wide Platform for the Distribution of Electronic Books, authorizing the State Library to create and maintain a state platform for the distribution of electronic books (e-books) to public library patrons.
