Budget and Financial Management Division

How OPM manages our budgets

At the Budget and Financial Management Division we:

  • Advise the Governor and State leaders on financial impacts of policies
  • Build a budget plan that matches CT’s goals
  • Coordinate with agencies to deliver services efficiently

We also work to:

  • Create tools and guidelines for managing state finances
  • Analyze policies, the CT economy, pensions, and revenue to guide decisions
  • Plan and monitor major spending projects within legal limits
  • Ensure that agencies follow laws and use funds effectively
